Two Peas Videography and St George Community Housing on behalf of Homes NSW engaged me as a drone operator and ground-level videographer for a full-day shoot at an ongoing mixed social and private housing development in Sydney's South-West. The brief was to capture footage of the new homes and surrounding community for promotional, archival, and documentation purposes. Working closely with SGCH employees and local residents throughout the day, I managed varying environmental lighting conditions to deliver a series of aerial and ground-level footage effectively showcasing the development and its amenities.

Polara Studios engaged me as ground-level videographer for a full-day commercial shoot across Sydney on behalf of Roborock, producing footage of a branded JCDecaux bus wrap on Transport for NSW buses. Six hours, multiple CBD and inner-city locations, independent operation with Canon EOS R50 and DJI RS3 Mini gimbal. Pre-production included researching bus routes, schedules, and optimal shooting positions — arriving prepared rather than improvising.

Following the ground campaign, Polara Studios re-engaged me two weeks later with significantly more creative latitude — this time to capture drone footage of the branded Roborock buses at Bondi and Bronte beaches. Weekday timing, empty parklands, VLOS maintained throughout, 30-metre vehicle separation. The standout: tracking the bus down the Bronte beachfront road before pulling back to reveal the full sweep of beach, rock pool, and coastline — branded bus in frame the entire way.

TDE, a Sydney automotive detailing studio, and Coform Creative, their social media agency, engaged me for a full suite of ground-level content: vertical pieces to camera for Reels and Stories, workshop B-roll, hero car sequences, still photography, and a drone aerial overview — all within a 3-hour booking window. Pre-production included reviewing TDE's existing Instagram to understand what already worked (raw close-up process footage at 20K+ views) and what needed elevating.

A commercial client needed 12 high-resolution stills of a property on Larkin St, Camperdown, within 24 hours. The site sat in restricted low-ceiling airspace near the Sydney CBD, making the compact sub-250g DJI Mini 4K the right tool. Before flying, I produced annotated Google Earth planning screenshots so the client could review and approve compositions in advance, including proposed angles, building orientations, and expected skyline visibility. The flight went ahead the following morning in clear conditions. Below: planning screenshots alongside the actual results.

A local DJ and musician engaged me to film his outdoor DJ set at a park in Waverton — capturing audio from both a wireless lapel mic and a shotgun mic alongside aerial drone footage of the performance and its surroundings. The brief was to produce a visually engaging video capturing the DJ's performance, the crowd's energy, and the scenic park backdrop, delivered as 4K raw files for the client's own editing.

A homeowner contacted me after a major storm, reporting a worsening water stain in his daughters' bedroom. The property sits within restricted R470B airspace near RAAF Base Richmond — flights were scheduled on a weekend when R470B restrictions lift, and the DJI Air 2S was selected specifically for its zoom and 1-inch sensor to document close-up detail from a safe standoff distance. The inspection revealed: a plant established in gutter debris damming water toward the roofline (source of the leak), significant bird droppings on windowsills (source of an unexplained odour), and solar panels confirmed clean — saving the client an unnecessary tradesperson cleaning fee.

A catch-all for shoots that don't fit neatly into a single category — interview setups, sports photography, event coverage, and other ground or aerial productions. Same equipment, same preparation, different context.

dronesforhire.com.au → airtasker.com →I started drone photography because I genuinely enjoy capturing Sydney from above, and recently started helping local people do the same without the usual hassle. I fly a few times a week, and take my camera with me on all my overseas holidays; the rest of the time you'll find me running around a hospital learning medicine, teaching kids at the local public school about debating and public speaking, or tutoring for the HSC.
I focus on being approachable, reliable, and easy to work with. No middlemen, no account managers, no weird AI automated quote systems. Just an email to me directly.
If you're looking for a five-person production crew and top-of-the-line post-production, you're in the wrong place. If you're looking for one experienced, qualified, enthusiastic guy with drones and cameras at non-ripoff prices, you're in exactly the right place.

Canon EOS R50 — ground-level photo and video. Full lens kit (18-45mm kit lens, 10-18mm ultra-wide, 50mm f/1.8), RS3 Mini gimbal, shotgun mic, DJI Mic Mini 2 wireless for interviews and pieces to camera, 2x tripods. 4K video, 24.2MP stills.

Establishing aerial perspectives for residential listings. Clean, well-composed shots that show property context, streetscape, and surroundings.
These images are from residential properties in Sydney. They show how effective a low-cost drone inspection can be at detecting issues, giving you photos to seek out quotes from multiple tradespeople, rather than just trusting the one bloke who climbed up there, took pictures, and told you what he wanted to tell you.
Aerial coverage for commercial listings, strata, and development sites. Useful for showing access, footprint, and surrounding infrastructure.
Wide-angle locality shots showing neighbourhood context, streetscapes, and surrounding areas. Great for real estate listings that want to sell the location as much as the property.
Roads, bridges, utilities, and civic infrastructure from above. Useful for councils, developers, and anyone who needs to document or showcase built environment at scale.
Sydney from above: waterways, parks, coastline, and the kind of shot that looks great on a website or a wall. Just wait until next summer for more beach photos!
Not everything stays local. A selection of aerial and ground-level shots from international trips — proof that a good eye travels well.
Not everything needs to be aerial. Sydney streetscapes, commercial shoots, urban environments, and candid city moments — captured at ground level with the Canon EOS R50. Entry-level kit, pro results.
The difference between me and a "company" is that they're trying to make a living off of you, while I just want to fund next Friday night and build my skills flying for fun.
